Bridge Gaps With a Wireless Web Camera

Do you have family that you have not seen in some time because of your location? Do you want to see what goes on in your home while you are on a business trip? Do you just want to make sure that everyone is alright? All of that can be done with the help of a wireless web camera.

This new advancement in technology uses a wireless network to allow you remote monitoring of your home or office on any internet-capable personal computer, palm top computer or 3G mobile phone. The devices that are now available in the consumer market are all relatively easy to set up. The wireless web cameras come with its own wireless server that detects the wireless router and configures the setting of the device for you. Most of the products allow users to create their own personal web address free of charge so they can access the views provided by the web cam exclusively.

This technology is an easy and affordable way to keep track of what is happening in your home and family as compared to traveling long distances. Grandparents located in Florida can see their new granddaughter in California without having to leave the safety of their respective homes. People with a nine to five job can see how their pets are doing while they are gone. It is also quite convenient since you can access the camera from anywhere in the world as long as you have internet access and video capability on your computer or phone. Recovering Passwords and Web Certificates

Passwords and personal web certificates are some of the more common ways of preserving our Internet security and are usually our first line of defense against hacking threats. However, there are times when we just lose or forget about them and we feel that there’s no way of accessing our accounts. Most probably, we won’t have a way of getting back exactly what we have lost or forgotten but it doesn’t mean we can’t get a new password or certificate.

When you lose your personal web certificate, you can simply request your issuer for another one. This isn’t really a problem as long a s you are able to pass their verification procedures. These are, of course, important because they are another way of showing that your Internet security is, indeed, being protected up to the last opportunity that it could be. Imagine if you lost your certificate and somebody comes up claiming to be you and requests for a new one. Without proper verification, even the point of having the certificate is useless.

The usual way of verifying identities is through a secret question that you yourself will provide upon setting up your account with an email service, credit card company, a bank and others where you may have personal accounts. Of course, as you set the question, you set the answer as well. Each time you request for a new password or certificate, you’re going to have to answer this question correctly as a way to ascertain that you are the actual owner of the account involved. While a security question may sound good enough in ensuring that nobody unauthorized resets your password, it is not a foolproof technique especially today when technologies that enable one to dig into a person’s information on the web are quite abundant. Today’s Basics of Web Hosting

This first paragraph will explain briefly what ‘website hosting’ actually is… For a Website to be seen across the world it needs to be ‘hosted’ by a ‘provider’. These providers basically have several ‘web servers’; which are basically really big and complex computer hubs – from here they connect everything on the web servers to the internet so that the information can be seen around the world.

There are many types of ‘hosting providers’ from personal to multi national business models, but for personal and small business there are two main options…

A free web hosting service, which is advertisement-supported (sometimes), and is often limited when compared to paid for the service.

The other is Shared Hosting… Which is both the most popular and the most confusing… is a type of service where many web sites are hosted on same physical server. It is the cheapest and easiest way to get a web site up and running. Shared web hosting is perfect for web blogs, personal web pages, small forums, small business and e-commerce sites. Shared web hosting is ideal for establishing both simple websites up to medium sized complex websites. Read the rest of this entry »
